Project looks to restore North Vancouver mudflats where First Nations once harvested seafood

The restoration project is a partnership between the Port of Vancouver and the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation and will take three to four years to complete. Once the project is done at the Maplewood Flats, the hope is that the restored vegetation will once again attract wildlife. Even if the project doesn't lead to immaculate mudflats, Konovsky hopes the efforts will improve conditions elsewhere in the inlet.
