Lady Rosemead (or Lady Rose for short), who has been on a strict balanced-dog-food-only diet ever since her rescue from the streets, recently got to indulge her favourite treat – fried chicken. Allan Perrins, spokesperson for AWS, says when the society introduced the KFC team to Lady Rose she didn’t know whether to sit, stand or run around in excitement. “She wanted to be in on the action.”Perrins described how Lady Rose expectedly sniffed the air. After months of roaming the streets and eluding capture, Lady Rose was lured into a humane trap on Monday 15 March, all thanks to the help of dog-loving residents and a “secret weapon” – an irresistible KFC drumstick (“Rose gets her day”, People’s Post, 23 March). After weeks of treatment, Perrins says Lady Rose’s transformation into someone’s much-loved pet is now 100% assured.
