How about we test their seriousness by proposing to eliminate the separate categories for girls’ and women’s sports? Rather than having males compete somewhat subtly against females, let’s bring it out into the open. Many people have pointed out that continuing to let males compete in “female” sports will eventually render “female” sports irrelevant. To some extent the same discussion could be prompted by a proposal to eliminate separate girls’ and women’s physical spaces such as restrooms and locker rooms. Girls’ and women’s sports were created to allow females to compete against other females, rather than against males who are in many ways very different physically from females.
