Protest against compulsory STP order


more-inThe Federation of Apartment Associations Bengaluru (FAAB) has organised a peaceful protest at Maurya Circle at noon on Saturday against the notification making it compulsory for apartment complexes with more than 50 units to have an sewage treatment plant (STP). The FAAB is protesting the decision to make installation of STPs binding on all apartment irrespective of their age. Stating that installing STPs in old buildings would pose several technical challenges, a memorandum listing the challenges will be handed over to the Governor after the protest, a statement said. Prasad, president of FAAB, old apartment complexes were not planned to include an STP. An STP has to be planned before construction of the apartment.
