Agitating students at Dhaka University (DU) wrapped major sculptures in the campus with black cloth, demanding punishment of student political activists who allegedly assaulted students and molested female students during a demo last week. The protesting students wrapped the faces on the anti-terrorism Raju memorial sculpture and Aparajeyo Bangla on Sunday afternoon. In the morning, several hundred students of the university brought out a protest procession which paraded through Arts Faculty, Business Faculty, Science Faculty and all major streets of the university to press home their three demands. The protesting students also announced that they will besiege the university vice-chancellor’s office on Tuesday if their demands are not met by this time. These students were originally demanding the cancellation of the affiliation of seven colleges with the university.
