Protesting Wrestlers Threaten to Throw Medals in Ganges as WFI Chief Responds


Embattled Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, responded to the protesting wrestlers who gathered in Haridwar on Tuesday and threatened to throw their medals in the Ganges. The wrestlers were protesting against Singh over allegations of sexual harassment by female wrestlers. At the holy city of Haridwar, Naresh Tikait, a farmer leader, talked the wrestlers out of throwing their medals in the river. Olympians Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat reached Haridwar to immerse their medals in the Ganges. The protesting grapplers said they will visit Haridwar and throw their medals in the Ganga.
