Alberta’s Law Enforcement Review Board held an inquiry into the case in April at the request of provincial Justice Minister Kathleen Ganley. Many of the key players in the Arkinstall case are in different roles now. Both the Calgary Police Service and the Calgary Police Commission have said they won’t comment on the inquiry until the review board delivers its report. In June, the review board also heard allegations that Calgary police improperly shared information about Engel when he requested information related to the Arkinstall case.
