Punjabi singer Surinder Pal Dhammi, known as Surinder Shinda, died of prolonged illness at Ludhiana’s Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Wednesday. Shinda, described as the ‘grandfather of Music on Console’, was admitted to DMCH on July 15, and had been on a ventilator since then. “He had been operated on intestinal perforation sometimes back in some other hospital after which he got unwell and had got pneumonia. When he came to us on July 15, he was already in a critical situation and was on a ventilator. …he died Wednesday morning at 6.45 am due to all the associated reasons,” the doctor said.
