Pupils and teachers suffering stress over ministers' failure to plan for exams

Shadow Education Secretary Kate Green demanded further clarity on next year’s GCSE and A-levels as new analysis found more than 8.7 million young people faced being plunged into the tougher tier two and three restrictions this week. Ms Green said: “The Government’s failure to get a grip on this pandemic has meant thousands of pupils off school, missing out on essential learning. “Instead of bringing forward a clear plan for next summer’s exams the government has dithered and delayed, creating huge stress for pupils, teachers and parents. In a letter to the Sunday Times yesterday, he said: “Exams are the best and fairest way for young people to show what they know and can do. “We are also working closely with Ofqual on how to grade exams fairly next year.”
