Moscow (CNN) Russian President Vladimir Putin has pardoned Naama Issachar , an American-Israeli woman jailed in Russia on drug charges, the Kremlin said in a statement Wednesday. "I thank my friend, President Putin, on his granting of a pardon to Naama Issachar," he said. Since her arrest, Netanyahu has repeatedly pleaded Issachar's case with Putin, asking the Russian President to pardon her and allow her to return to Israel. Israeli-American Naama Issachar was arrested for drug smuggling in April. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife Sarah and the mother of Naama Issachar met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Jerusalem on Thursday.
