January 2, 2024 |Photo – Pistol being fired – Courtesy Forbes.comOn New Year’s Eve at approximately 10:00pm, the Rawlins Police Department, with assistance from Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Carbon County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a call concerning shots fired in the 1000 Block of 12th Street in the city. No injuries were reported due to the incident, and no damage was located to any nearby property. While investigating the source of the shots, additional shots were fired near investigating officers. The Rawlins Police Department would like to remind our residents about the importance of responsible firearm ownership and usage. We would like to thank the WHP and county sheriff’s office for their assistance and the neighbors for their cooperation during the incident.
