SERIAN: More than 1,000 dogs and cats have been vaccinated in a mass campaign in the district as of noon today. The two-day long mass vaccination campaign was organised in the wake of rabies outbreak, which has so far claimed the lives of three children. Serian District Council deputy chairman Dr Simon Sinang Bada described the turnout as encouraging and reflected the cumulative efforts by the people in the district to help contain the virus. Apart from the community hall, the campaign is also being held at Bubuk Gawing Hall, Serian Veterinary Office and the Serian District Council. Dr Simon also extended his appreciation to members of the Sarawak Veterinar Association, who were involved in the campaign.
