President Uhuru Kenyatta’s media team has said Cord leader Raila Odinga is preparing his supporters for chaos in 2017. In an interview with Citizen TV on May 1, Raila repeated the same statement, word for word. The digital unit of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit has spent the week drawing parallels on Raila’s 2007 comments with present ones. In one of their video compilations, in 2007, Raila said if the elections did not go his way, the “consequences would be too grave to contemplate”. PSCU director of digital and innovation Dennis Itumbi said they are concerned that Raila is operating on a script similar to that of 2007.
