Even the promises given by the Railway general manager when he recently visited Kerala have not seen the light of the day. Train stoppages are not being implemented according to the declared norms of the Railways. Mr. Sampath has charged that there appears to be concerted efforts at the top echelons of the Railways for tearing asunder the Thiruvananthapuram Railway division and for consistently ignoring even the just demands of Kerala. Some trains that go from Chennai to north India can be extended to Nagercoil junction, the letter says.
