The four South African teams are reported to have been told they will not be allowed to travel to the UK. "We have little information at this stage, but it seems to be the case that the Rainbow Cup will be cancelled," Coetzee told the IOL news website. The competition is meant to feature all 12 existing Pro14 clubs in addition to the four South African teams. With the decision having been made to shorten the Pro14 season, the Rainbow Cup was designed as a way to generate revenue for the game once more.
