MANILA, Philippines — A huge part of Luzon including Metro Manila would continue to experience rains until Friday due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” which is intensified by the low pressure area (LPA) east of the country. The weather forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Monday afternoon showed that rains on the eastern portion of Luzon, namely parts of Southern Luzon and Cagayan Valley, would be brought by the LPA. Meanwhile, the western parts of Luzon, from Central Luzon to Metro Manila down to Southern Luzon would be affected by monsoon rains. The rest of Luzon on the other hand may see a gradual improvement of weather conditions. (Tomorrow we are expecting a gradual improvement of the weather in Palawan and Bicol Region, but the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila would still see a cloudy skies and rains.)
