It's been four years since MS Dhoni played a Ranji Trophy match, and it was only last year that India's limited-overs captain played the one-day format tournament of India's domestic circuit, the Vijay Hazare Trophy. With the limited overs leg against New Zealand 10 days away, Dhoni will not be playing with the Jharkhand team. "I won't be playing this Ranji Trophy game but will be around with the boys. But after retiring from Tests, I have started going to the gym regularly and am able to watch my diet, and it has helped me. Nowadays, as I am not playing all three formats, I am able to plan my off-season much better," Dhoni further said.
