Monrovia - The detained President of the Liberia National Student Union (LINSU) charged with rape has been released on bail following a court ruling Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Presiding Judge Serena Garlawolo of Criminal Court “E” admitted Jarsey to bail following a ruling in a motion filed by Jarsey’s lawyer, Cllr. Arthur Johnson, citing his deteriorating health status while in prison. Following the ruling of the court, Jarsey was immediately ordered release from the Monrovia Central Prison on order of the court. Statutory rape, which Jarsey had been accused of committing, contravenes Section 14.70 of the 2005 Rape Law of the Republic of Liberia.
