A 700 kg sawfish, an endangered species of shark, landed in the fishing net of a local fisherman in Maharashtra's Sindhudurg region. Fisherman Muneer Mujawar found the fish in his net and said that the animal was around 20 feet long and weighed 700 kg, as reported by PTI. Even fishermen tried eliminating them as the shark used to consume their catch, according to a HT report . Another fisherman from Sindhudurg revealed that this shark is sold for Rs 1.5 lakh in the domestic market.
