The Frenchman has spent the last decade at the Bernabeu, winning four Champions League titles and the league title on three occasions. That has alerted Manchester United, who have long held Varane up as their ideal signing at centre-back. Though United are described as the most realistic destination for Varane, rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are credited with an interest in the defender. The club hope a fine European Championships could help drum up further interest in Varane, particularly with Paris Saint-Germain in need of defensive reinforcements.
