PETALING JAYA: As electric vehicle (EV) adoption accelerates, the government is stepping up efforts to upgrade its tracking infrastructure, aiming to deliver real-time data on EV charging bays nationwide. However, the ministry acknowledged that the public dashboard has yet to reflect the latest nationwide figures due to an ongoing transition in data management. Managing Malaysia’s rapidly expanding EV infrastructure requires a coordinated, multi-agency approach. “Together, these coordinated efforts will help ensure that EV infrastructure continues to expand in line with growing adoption across Malaysia,” the ministry said. Under the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2021-2030, Malaysia aimed to deploy 10,000 public charging bays nationwide by the end of 2025.
