The government has begun a recruitment process for the post of director of broadcasting, who heads RTHK. In a statement, the administration said recruitment advertisements, which clearly set out details of the entry requirements, have been published in newspapers and posted on the government website. The recruitment essentially means the current RTHK chief, Leung Ka-wing, will leave the position when his three-year contract expires in August next year. The public broadcaster is currently the subject of a government-led management review, following a series of controversies over its programmes, which have come under fire for being allegedly biased and anti-police.
