Kohl Stewart (1-1) allowed seven hits and three runs in 3 2/3 innings. Stripling (2-3) allowed seven hits, struck out four and walked one. Lucas Giolito (5-5) gave up four runs and seven hits in seven innings, including all three homers, and struck out nine. Mike Minor (4-3) allowed five runs and seven hits in seven innings. Whit Merrifield hit a two-run single and Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run homer for the Royals.
