Demolition of Redbud Hill ApartmentsAfter 64 years of housing IU students, Redbud Hill Apartments North and Redbud Hill Apartments East will be razed as the sixth and final campus housing demolition scheduled within the Bloomington Campus Long-Term Housing Capital Plan. The soon-to-be razed site joins the Evermann, Banta, Bicknell, Hepburn and Nutt apartments as campus housing buildings that have been identified for demolition. IU President Whitten on student housing needs: 'costs and challenges'During Morrison's presentation, Trustee Cathy Langham inquired about current student housing needs. On the Bloomington campus, IU has consistently had roughly above 12,000 beds, Morrison responded. In April, Indiana lawmakers passed the state’s 2023-25 biennial budget, which includes a total appropriation of $37.7 million for IU campus repairs to be spread evenly over a two-year period.
