Reform UK's deputy Scottish chairman supported independence in 2014 and voted SNP for 40 years

The deputy chairman of Reform UK in Scotland has admitted he was a lifelong SNP voter who also backed Scexit in the 2014 independence referendum. Reform is even backing another Scottish independence referendum... although not until 2039. He said: "I voted SNP in every election until 2019, when I spoiled my ballot because I felt there was nobody worth voting for." Mr Kirkwood admitted that "some Reform supporters see it as not being compatible" but insisted the situation was "quite complicated". "Quite a few of our candidates have been long term SNP supporters as well, but they are sick of what the SNP is doing to Scotland," he said.
