The former leader of the Royal Borough has been sacked from his Reform UK role after widespread condemnation over ‘deeply dehumanising’ remarks about the Grenfell Tower disaster. Grenfell United, a group representing survivors and bereaved families of the disaster, said Mr Dudley’s comments were ‘deeply dehumanising’. “My concern is the introduction of numerous measures that do nothing to protect life and are throttling housebuilding.”A Reform UK spokesman said: “Simon Dudley is no longer a spokesman for Reform UK. “The comments he made about the Grenfell tragedy were inappropriate and hurtful.”Earlier, the party had issued a statement which said: “Grenfell was a complete tragedy and homes must, of course, be built safely. “Simon’s comments on Grenfell reflected his broader point that the regulatory pendulum has swung too far in response to the tragedy.
