Regina Pat Canadians complete sweep of Saskatoon Contacts

The Regina Pat Canadians are moving on to Round 2 of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League playoffs. Regina, which finished first in the regular-season standings, completed a sweep of the eighth-seeded Saskatoon Contacts in a best-of-five quarterfinal by winning — at the Co-operators Centre on Tuesday. After a scoreless first period, Parker Hendren, Adam Kydd and Jack Glen tallied to give Regina a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes. “We played really good hockey (during the series), but there were some times when we didn’t play our best hockey,” Glen, the Pat Canadians’ captain, said after the clincher. Even if they weren’t having their best game, they were still giving 110 per cent, and I think that’s important.
