Artificial Intelligence (AI) is continuously engaging with and remodelling the legal profession, be it predictive analytics to assess litigation outcomes or AI-assisted contract review tools. However, legal education in India continues to rely heavily on conventional doctrinal approaches and legal theory. While these foundations are important, today’s lawyer also has to be able to collate vast amounts of data, research through extensive data bases, and, based on the analysis of these predictive AI tools, choose a course of action. Therefore, a law graduate must have a firm hold on the workings of these AI tools, especially in complex legal matters pertaining to commercial litigation and regulatory disputes.
