Relocation of stray dogs: HC adjourns writ hearing till October 6

Barrister Saqeb Mahbub stood for the writ petition while Additional Attorney General Murad Reza represented the state. “Therefore, both parties prayed for time from the court and the court adjourned the hearing till October 6,” he added. The plea sought a rule from the High Court asking the government and the South city corporation why the initiative should not be declared illegal. According to the Section 7 of the Animal Welfare Act 219, stray animals cannot be killed or relocated.
