Remedy Alexis Rule resets national swim mark in worlds

MANILA, Philippines — Fil-Am Remedy Alexis Rule underscored her readiness for the Southeast Asian Games this early, shattering Olympian Jasmine Alkhaldi’s four-year national mark in women’s 100-meter fly in the 18th FINA World Swimming Championships in Gwangju, Korea over the weekend. Rule, 23, clocked one minute and .42 second to eclipse Alkhaldi’s 1:01.00 clocking she set in the SEAG in Singapore in 2015. Rule wound up 30th overall in the worlds. In the worlds, a national federation with less than four qualifiers is allowed to enter one additional member. The four are also set to see action in the mixed 4x100m free and mixed 4x100m medley relays.
