The programme opened with a presentation by Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). He highlighted economic progress since the July Uprising, noting that remittances had grown by more than 21 percent during the past 15 months.
