Reports: Diamondbacks agree to deal with OF Calhoun

Outfielder Kole Calhoun agreed to a two-year, guaranteed $16 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Calhoun, 32, became a free agent when the Los Angeles Angels declined his $14 million option for 2020 and paid a $1 million buyout. In eight major league seasons, all with the Angels, Calhoun has batted .249 with 140 home runs and 451 RBIs. Calhoun will earn $6 million in 2020 and $8 million in 2021, with a $2 million buyout attached to a $9 million option for 2022, according to the reports. A native of the Phoenix suburb of Buckeye, Ariz., Calhoun attended Arizona State before he was an eighth-round draft pick in 2010.
