DOBBIACO, Italy — Lindsey Vonn had surgery to repair a fractured leg after her fall Sunday in the women’s downhill race at the Winter Olympics, according to multiple reports. The national governing body said in a statement earlier Sunday that Vonn was injured but in stable condition. Just five days before, Vonn announced that she had a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee following a crash in a World Cup race on Jan. 30 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. That didn’t stop her from attempting to race the downhill, but seconds after she started, she ran into trouble. The Olympia delle Tofane slope in Cortina is one of her favorites — she’s won there a record 12 times on the World Cup circuit.
