BJP leaders in Bengal have accused the Mamata Banerjee government of preventing some of their MPs in north Bengal from reaching out to their electorate during the coronavirus crisis. “Once Parliament reopens, we want a privilege motion to be brought against the chief secretary, home secretary and the director-general of police,” said a party insider. “Since then, I am not being allowed to move out of my house and it is almost like house arrest. The administration and the police are acting in a biased manner.”Roy, the Jalpaiguri MP, said: “After returning from Delhi I had stayed at home for 14 days. Meanwhile, the state leadership, while talking to the national leaders, also alleged that the state is fudging Covid-19 death figures.
