The seizure included a wide range of well-known beer brands such as Desperados, Carlsberg, Budweiser, Stella, San Miguel, and Karpackie. Revenue officers have seized more than 24,000 litres of beer at Rosslare Europort in Co Wexford, in a haul worth almost €100,000, as part of ongoing operations targeting smuggling and tax evasion. Revenue said the seizures took place during a week of intelligence-led and risk-profiling operations in Dublin, Kilkenny, the midlands and Rosslare Europort. Revenue officers also seized 1,698 assorted tablets with an estimated value exceeding €4,000, along with other illicit drugs valued at more than €6,000. Over the same week, officers seized tobacco products valued at €9,345, representing a potential tax loss of more than €7,000, as well as over 84 litres of alcohol valued at €1,485.
