Mark Zuckerberg talked at Harvard’s commencement in March about the need to redistribute a lot of other people’s money far and wide. After all, how unfair could it get that some in this country have so much more money than other people do? Simply put, in a free enterprise system, the marketplace rewards people and organizations that create “things” and services of value others willingly buy and consume. Thus, day laborers in the home center store parking lot are fairly and similarly rewarded as well, again, on a competitive marketplace basis. Most obviously, there’s not much for people who have wealth to feel particularly guilty about.
