Africa, Arabia and southern Asia will tomorrow be shrouded in darkness as a rare 'ring of fire' solar eclipse takes place. Tomorrow people in Africa, Arabia and southern Asia will be treated to the rare sight of a 'ring of fire' annular eclipse when the Moon travels in front of the Sun. Moving east, the annular eclipse will cross over Asia and Africa before hitting its maximum eclipse – where a complete ring of light engulfs the moon – when it reaches Uttarakhan, India at 12.10pm local time. This perfect alignment of the Earth, Moon and Sun will only be visible for 38 seconds. Paris Observatory astronomer Florent Delefie said: 'The annular eclipse is visible from about two percent of Earth surface.
