The government will ditch its instructions for people to work from home, leaving the decision up to bosses from July 19. But officials have stopped short of encouraging a return to the office, leaving the choice ultimately to employers. New laws being look into could stop bosses from forcing some workers back to the office full-time under post-pandemic plans.
