The elders met on Saturday, May 8 to craft possible solutions to the problem. Kikuyu Council of Elders Chairperson, David Githaka, said the group will meet a section of Kirinyaga men, who recently filed complaints of being battered by their spouses. Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru welcomed the council of elders’ initiative, saying it would help families in the region embrace peace and responsible living.
