BY WILLIAM ADAMOPOULOSAs we at FORBES ASIA embark upon the new year, it's useful to look back at 2016--a challenging year for business and investment. The highlight of the year was no doubt the Forbes Global CEO Conference, held November 29 to December 1 in Jakarta. Under the theme of "Rising to the Challenge," some 400 CEOs convened to share insights on how best to succeed in these difficult economic times. Conference delegates received two bumper issues of FORBES ASIA, including the December issue featuring our Businessman of the Year, Cheng Wei of Didi Chuxing. With the conference in Indonesia, many of our delegates took the opportunity to wear batik attire (see our pictorial on pages 49 to 60 in the Forbes Asia Jan/Feb.
