Drivers in the area will have to find alternative routes as a section of the C2008 is set to close to vehicles from January 30. Although the official order can last up to 18 months, it is anticipated the restrictions will be in place for seven days. The council order says that a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicles, however, will have to follow a signed alternative route, which will take them along the A594, C2001 Central Road, and Row Brow.
