Startup company Rocket Lab has revealed the customer for its first launch of 2019, and it’s a big one. The launch will take place on an Electron rocket in late February from Rocket Lab’s Launch Complex 1 on the Māhia Peninsula of New Zealand, where they have conducted all of their launches so far. This could enable future small satellites to have larger satellites, improving communications with the ground. Rocket Lab is hoping that its Electron vehicle will enable missions like this to take place more rapidly in the future. And if this year goes to plan, Rocket Lab will have further cemented their position as a major player in the small-satellite launch market.
