A cop tries to douse a police vehicle torched in Kashmir's Anantnag on Friday during clashes with protesters railing against the alleged persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. The police said the personnel were attacked by a mob in Anantnag's Lal Chowk area. Locals said hundreds hit the streets after Friday prayers, shouting anti-Myanmar and anti-India slogans. Stray incidents also occurred in Srinagar despite curfew-like restrictions in the old city to prevent such protests. The Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulama, a body of religious organisations headed by separatist leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, had called the protests.
