Slowly, but surely, Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman (MBS) is emerging out of the political wilderness. The 33-year-old prince, expected to rule Saudi Arabia for decades, has also his sight set on the state of the Saudi economy. As the Saudi foreign minister underlined in Islamabad, the MoUs signed by Saudi Arabia and its Asian partners were for investments and not a charity. By investing there, Saudi Arabia would get close to the borders of its archrival, Iran. After a brief lull, the economic partnership between Western businesses and Saudi Arabia are also back on the radar.
