(CNN) Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio said Sunday he did not believe President Donald Trump would ever convince North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to relinquish his nuclear weapons. "I would love for Kim Jong Un to give up his weapons and everything else," Rubio said on NBC's "Meet the Press." And I don't criticize the President for trying. Rubio said he believed the Trump administration's efforts to denuclearize North Korea would "fail" and described Kim as "a young dictator who has to figure out how to hold onto power." It was unclear immediately after the tweet what sanctions Trump was referring to, and two sources told CNN that Trump was referring to a group of large-scale sanctions that had not been announced Friday.
