Mr Giuliani has been at the forefront of Trump's efforts to discredit the results of the presidential election which was won by Joe Biden. Trump tweeted: "Rudy Giuliani, by far the greatest mayor in the history of NYC, and who has been working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA, has tested positive for the China Virus. Trump's legal avenues to dispute the election results continue to narrow day by day. Amid the devastating news, Trump has been absent from discussion, preferring instead to tweet about how the election was "stolen" from him.
