Ruling is for protection of the majority

I REFER to the letter “No logic for two persons in a car ruling” (The Star, Feb 11). At first glance, it would appear that the ruling is illogical, but on closer scrutiny, it is rational after all. But who is in the majority, the rich having multiple cars or the poor? But if we allow the same family members to travel together in the one vehicle, then the risk of exposure of the extra family members to the virus is definitely increased at the end point of disembarkation, for example at the supermarket where crowds prevail. No rule is foolproof and the current ruling restricting two persons to one car may sound somewhat inconvenient.
