The rupee gained 21 paise to 90.44 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday, supported by positive sentiments after India and the US reached a framework for an interim trade pact. ADVERTISEMENTAt the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 90.66 against the US dollar, then gained some ground to touch 90.44, registering a gain of 21 paise over its previous close. On Friday, the rupee declined 31 paise to settle at 90.65 against the US dollar. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, was trading 0.94 per cent lower at USD 67.41 per barrel in futures trade. In the previous reporting week, the forex kitty had increased by USD 8.053 billion to USD 709.413 billion, surging past the earlier all-time high of USD 704.89 billion recorded in September 2024.
