Russia has confirmed that it is in negotiations with South Africa on a number of joint projects in the energy sector, including the construction of a gas power plant. In an interview with state media agency TASS, Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov said the country is now entering new markets for liquefied gas. This topic is being actively discussed with South Africa, he said. The gas power plant talks was confirmed following a meeting between Deputy Energy Minister Sergey Mochalnikov and South African Ambassador to Russia Mzuvukile Jeff Maqetuka this week.
