President William Ruto has made a series of appointments and reappointments to several key state corporations, agencies and boards, according to a gazette notice published on Friday, January 9, 2026. Dr Stephen Mairori was reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) Board. Similarly, the President reappointed Walter Nyambati as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Geothermal Development Company Board for another three-year term, effective January 9, 2026. Additionally, Daniel Chemno was reappointed as Non-Executive Chairperson of the New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union Board, for three years beginning February 10, 2026. The appointments and reappointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and oversight in strategic state agencies and boards.
